A Dream-Chasing Seminar for 130 Chinese Engineering Students
During a teaching visit to a Chinese university, a foreign instructor held a seminar titled “Have you ever had a dream like Rudy?” to encourage students to work hard, pursue their dreams, and become the person they aspire to be. The event was attended by more than 130 students majoring in Information Engineering.
Throughout the seminar, students actively took notes of motivational phrases and engaged in deep interaction with the instructor. Many raised specific questions, such as “How do I know if my dream is realistic?” and “What should I do when I face repeated failures?” In response, the instructor shared his own journey of chasing dreams – including the struggles he encountered and how he kept going despite setbacks. His honest storytelling resonated strongly with the young audience.
Beyond motivation, the seminar also highlighted several key areas the students should focus on in their future studies, helping them connect their long-term dreams with concrete academic efforts.
